Another summer of transfer speculation has finally ended with Klass-Jan Huntelaar moving to Schalke for €13 million.
After another disappointing season scoring just 7 goals in 26 appearances (most of which came as a substitute) Huntelaar has faced another summer of intense transfer speculation. Here are just a few of the rumours that haven’t come true as of yet. Huntelaar has been tracked by many clubs according to the press including: Marseille, Tottenham, Schalke, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Huntelaar’s future could rest on whether AC Milan are able to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Barcelona. Zlatan now appears to be surplus to requirements after the signing of David Villa from Valencia.
Huntelaar was on the scoresheet as AC Milan came out on top in a five goal thriller. Huntelaar struck an absolute screamer from 30 yards when the score was 1-1. This result leaves AC Milan in third place 3 points behind local rivals Inter and 2 points behind second place Roma.
